Riot Games Wants to Donate Battle Pass Sales to Humanitarian Relief in Eastern Europe
Riot Games announced that their battle pass sales from March 5 to 12, 2022, will be donated to humanitarian relief efforts in Eastern Europe. The war between Ukraine and Russia has caused an expanding humanitarian crisis, with innocent lives caught in the middle of the conflict.
Riot will donate their battle pass sales from VALORANT, Legends of Runeterra, Wild Rift, and Teamfight Tactics to relief efforts in the area. The donation amount also includes the sales from the new Bee skin line in League of Legends.
Furthermore, Riot Games also plans to donate $1M to three non-profit humanitarian organizations:
This act of goodwill from Riot Games has sparked the confidence of many players to help support the relief efforts in Ukraine. Yet, the donation drive met backlash from players who did not forget Riot’s statement for the cruelty done in Hong Kong.
Riot announced to all their players that they should censor and not discuss “sensitive topics” regarding the 2019 humanitarian crisis in Hong Kong.
